At Niavac we like to think of ourselves as “glass half full” people. While acknowledging the terrible impact of the coronavirus on so many, we’re grateful for the safety of our team and their families and thankful that we have become incredibly well-versed in the art of hosting virtual events.
With this shiny new string added to our bow, we have been able to host numerous exciting and ambitious virtual events in the last year and the Irish Echo 2021 Arts and Culture Celebration Awards is no exception. We were delighted to host this awards ceremony using our state-of-the-art virtual studio on April 23rd, in collaboration with Aisling Events.
As part of our services, we provided the studio space and technical management for the event. Naturally, our AV events technicians are extremely well-equipped at juggling the multitude of technical challenges encountered when running a live virtual event and this event had many technical aspects to consider.
The awards show had a huge host of guest speakers and nominees, all of which were linked in virtually and directed by a primary host who spoke with guest speakers and nominees.
We had the mammoth task of managing 50 individual zoom callers over the two-hour event, organising the callers in real-time throughout the event, bringing them on the screen as and when the host called on them. Our skilled crew was on hand to manage this, as well as monitoring the audio, video, and live stream feed broadcasting the event in full HD.
An extra feature we were excited to include was to provide the host with a monitor for viewing live stream comments, enabling him to view and interact with the audience in an engaging way. For this event, we also used a Barco E2 video switcher to control the video equipment, allowing us to place the zoom video callers over a branded moving background and position them where they were needed on-screen. The Barco system offers very low latency which assured a seamless viewing experience.
Unsurprisingly, the event ran smoothly and without any hiccups. We are very proud to partner with Aisling Events to bring events like this to global audiences.
